Matcha's power

Matcha's power

Lately, I started something small — but it changed how my mornings feel and pace.

Instead of jumping straight into work and reacting to everything around me, I began asking a simple question:

“How do I want to feel before I start my day?”

So I started testing a new routine.

🍠 7:00 AM — light breakfast (warm, simple food)
🧘‍♀️ 8:00 AM — movement/exercise under sunlight
🚿 9:30 AM — shower, slow down
🍵 10:00 AM — a cup of matcha
🧠 10:15 AM — begin deep work

At first, I used to drink matcha immediately after waking up.
But I noticed something — my body felt slightly cold and shaky.

So I adjusted.

And that’s when I realised something important:

It’s not just what we consume,
it’s when and how we support our body before it.

Now, drinking matcha after nourishing my body and moving a little, the effect feels completely different.

Instead of:
⚡ sudden energy
🌊 slight instability

I feel:
🌿 calm focus
🌿 steady clarity
🌿 grounded energy

I even feel my breathing changed.

All these while, I always have shallow breathing that can only inhale for 1-2 seconds, and my breathe Qi only reach somewhere around my shoulders.
Short, slightly tight and could not do deep breathing.

Since the day I have been drinking Matcha in the early morning,
without trying, I realised I could inhale longer.

Not forcefully
just naturally...
and the breathe did not stop at my chest and shoulders anymore,
it felt like it flowing down gently, deeper, as if everything inside was moving more smoothly.

At the same time, I noticed other small things:

My mind doesn’t feel heavy when I read complicated context
My brain doesn't feel heavy when I do deeper thinking.
Even when something unpleasant happens,
my emotions feel… lighter and calmer.

And in the evenings,
I find myself yawning more,
sometimes even burping which I barely can do burping before
as if my body is slowly releasing something it has been holding.

Nothing outside really changed.

But something inside my body and mind feel more settled.

Why matcha feels different? Matcha contains a unique combination of compounds:

  • Caffeine → supports alertness
  • L-theanine → promotes calm focus

This combination creates something called:

calm, stable energy

Instead of a sharp spike like coffee, matcha tends to feel:

  • smoother
  • more sustained
  • less jittery

Research also suggests that this combination can:

  • improve attention and work performance
  • support concentration under stress
  • promote relaxation
  • reduced subtle stress signals
  • promote better sleep

Matcha is also rich in antioxidants (like catechins), which may:

  • support overall health
  • reduce oxidative stress
  • support heart and metabolic health

If you’re curious to understand more about how matcha works and its benefits, I found this video quite helpful:

Matcha is interesting — it doesn’t push you aggressively.
It supports you quietly and gives you a very calm focus for deep thinking works.

But only if your body is ready to receive it.

Most of us start our day like this:

Wake up → check phone → respond → react → rush or
Wake up → wash up → get to work immediately → respond → react

We react to the energy that not what we design, day by day often we let the world decide our internal state.

But what if we reversed it?

What if we designed our internal state first,
before we step into work, responsibilities, and noise?

For me, this small routine has become a way to:

• settle my mind
• observe my body
• choose my energy
• step into work with intention

Not reactive, but grounded and clear.

It’s not about having the “perfect routine”.

It’s about noticing:

✨ what your body tells you
✨ what gives you calm energy
✨ what supports your thinking

And then gently adjusting, and we keep adjusting as we calibrating ourselves how to reach to the energy of the world that has been pre-designed (most people called this pre-conditioned/pre-structured) and it takes our energies and times for doing this calibration everyday.

Here is what I found while I’ve been enjoying this quiet moment with matcha before work.

Not just as a drink,
but as a transition into clarity.

A reminder that:
We don’t have to rush into the day.
We can arrive in it — intentionally.
